Year 3 - Miss Murphy

What a fantastic term it’s been! The children have worked exceptionally hard and now it’s time to relax over the Christmas break.

Looking forward to the Spring term, our topic will be Romans and we will be visiting Caerleon to see the Roman amphitheatre, Baths and museum. You will have an insight to what the children will be learning during our class assembly which is scheduled for 2pm on the 14th of February.

Our PE for this term is dance and we will be focusing on traditional Welsh folk dancing. We will be performing a traditional Welsh folk dance at our school Eisteddfod on the 28th of February.

We will be organising a Y3 Coding Club as an after school activity and more information will be sent home during the first week back in January.

Thank you for your support over the first term, it was a pleasure meeting you all at Parents Evening, I’m looking forward to starting the Spring term and seeing the children progress even further.

Autumn/ Hydref 2019

Croeso!

What a busy and fun-filled start to the term! The children have all settled into their new class and routine. Growth Mindset was our focus for the first week as we celebrate being resilient learners that never give up.

We learned the importance of staying safe online and even though Hwb is a fantastic platform to use to aid our learning. It is still important to stay safe online by never sharing our passwords and not using photographs of ourselves. All the children created an avatar and saved their design as their profile photo for their Hwb account.

Our topic for this term in ‘The Rainforest’/ ‘Y Fforest Law’ and we have visited The Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary to find out more about the different species of ape and monkey that originate from the rainforest. Toto was pleased to see the children and had a fantastic time racing the children.
