Supersaurs Story

Deep underground in a place not far from here called Scott’s Pit, slept four dinosaur eggs that had laid buried for millions of years. “Wake up! Wake up! screamed Respectosaurus, I’ve hatched!” with a shake and a shiggle Respectosaurus began to help crack the eggs of his three friends. One by one the dinosaurs emerged looking very puzzled.

 “What’s the time?” asked Tryosaurus

“The time! The time! exclaimed Thinkosaurus. We had better find out what century it is!”

Explorasarus had an idea, “if we keep trying really hard we could climb up to the next level of the pit and go exploring.”

“Amazing idea! And if we get stuck we can try a different way!” said Thinkosaurus

“Bant a ni,  let’s go! roared Respectosaurus loudly. I am so excited!”

They began to climb, Tryosaurus encouraged his friends to not to give up. “We can do this, we just need to stick at it and keep on trying, and we will get there in the end.”

As they climbed they chanted,

Roar! Roar! What’s the score?

Let’s climb up just one more floor!

Eventually the four dinosaurs reached the next level and felt very proud but were greeted with an extremely grumpy ROAR!

“Hello, who are you? Respectosaurus enquired

“Who are you?  replied the grumpy Disraptor. You woke me up!”

“We’ve been incubating at the bottom of Scott’s Pit but now we are awake and we are ready for some adventures!”

“Well go ahead, don’t let me stop you” moaned a very sleepy Disraptor.

“Come with us” suggested Thinkosaurus.

“I just can’t be bothered! It’s so dark, you will never find your way out.” yawned Disraptor.

“Well we are going to try until we do! What’s the point of just staying down here? enquired Tryosaurus.

Disraptor reluctantly decided to follow the four friends up one more level and as they climbed they chanted

Roar! Roar! What’s the score?

Let’s climb up just one more floor!

They began clambering up jagged rocks and over gigantic boulders.

“I give up, I give up! I just can’t be bothered it too much hard work” complained Disraptor.

And he sat down ‘PLOP’ right in the middle of a huge muddy puddle! The four friends tried their best to persuade Disraptor to keep going but he would not budge!

As they climbed they chanted,

Roar! Roar! What’s the score?

Let’s climb up just one more floor!

Disraptor was so stuck in his ways he just wasn’t willing to try anything new or take on any challenges. The four friends left him behind in the dark and clambered up and up until they caught sight of something silvery and bright above them.

As they climbed they chanted,

Roar! Roar! What’s the score?

Let’s climb up just one more floor!

The dino team had reached the surface! It was the dead of night and all they could see was a silvery moon shining in the dark night sky. As they climbed they chanted,

Roar! Roar! What’s the score?

Let’s climb up just one more floor!

“We did it, we did it!” they shouted excitedly. They jumped up and down and began to do their dinosaur Happy Dance!

“What now? What shall we do? Where shall we go? enquired a very excited Tryosaurus.

“Whoa! said Respectosaurus We will go exploring, you are just so excitable Tryosaurus when it comes to new things!”

In the still of night the four dinosaurs gently stomped around Birchgrove taking in everything they could see and everything they could smell.

“Look at that” exclaimed Explorasaurus. It looks like quite a big building. I wonder who lives there?”

Respectosaurus explained that it was a school; in fact it was Birchgrove Primary school. They all took it in turns to look through the window. In front of their eyes they saw a big assembly hall with beautifully painted walls and a Golden Leaf tree. They thought it was a fantastic place to be.

“This is where we will stay said Respectosaurus thoughtfully. The children must be amazing! They have class charters, Healthy schools awards and they MUST be so well behaved as they follow the Golden Rules! This is exactly where we can help the children become better learners.”

“How can we do that?” asked the other three friends.

Respectosaurus thought for a minute then said “We will ask the teachers to help us! We will ask them to introduce us individually to the children and explain what we do, how we think and how SUPER we really are!”

All of the dinosaurs were very excited about their new challenge.  They were also glad they had left Disraptor behind in the deep dark pit as he wasn’t willing to try anything new; he was going nowhere!

Tryosaurus suddenly got very excited, “Look! Look! he exclaimed it’s the school motto!

Eich gorau glas bob amser, always be the best you can be! We are going to love it here!

And the four friends turned away and as they stomped down the road doing their dinosaur Happy dance, they chanted

Roar! Roar! We know the score!

We’re the Birchgrove Supersaurs!

Roar! Roar! We know the score!

We’re the Birchgrove Supersaurs!

Roar! Roar! We know the score!

We’re the Birchgrove Supersaurs!

And they chanted all the way home until the faded into the dark of the night.
