The School Council met and planned a great day for Children in Need this year!
We met together and we decided that we should have a pyjama day and take part in The Big Move with Joe Wicks in our pyjamas!
Every year group from Nursery to Year Six joined in with The Big Move, we worked really hard and had a really good time. Pudsey even joined in on the video!
There are lots of children who need help in our world and so we this to help others.

A big thank you to everyone who donated care package items. The School Council created 67 care packages which were donated to Morriston Hospital League of Friends. They were overwhelmed with the care and generosity of our children. The packages will be given to vulnerable members of our community who are admitted to hospital without any personal toiletries, which will hopefully make their hospital visit more comfortable.
Here is a copy of the letter that we received during the Summer holidays:-
Dear Miss Beynon,
John and I were delighted to attend Birchgrove School today to take delivery of the care packages the School Council had purchased for the patients of Morriston Hospital. What a wonderful and caring idea from these young pupils. As we explained to the children many patients attend Morriston Hospital without any personal possessions at all and these care packages will help out no end.
We cannot express our sincere thanks enough to your pupils and I speak for all members of Morriston Hospital League of Friends.
Secretary Morriston Hospital League of Friends.
A big thank you to this years School Council, I am so proud to have worked along side you all! Miss Beynon.
The School Council met Jacki Rees-Thomas, the Play Development officer from Swansea City Council. The School Council had to look at two proposals for the new playground being built in Heol Las and share feedback on the plans. Jacki was amazed at the insightful ideas and thoughtfulness of our children. The children voted on their favourite design and have been invited to attend the sight as it is being developed next term.
The School Council have started 2019 with an important job!
We are completing a survey for the Welsh Assembly Government and finding out what children in our school think about School Uniform.
We will be looking at the children's responses this week and completing the survey to send our thoughts to the WAG.
